1. What type of Insurance are accepted?

WaveFit Physical Therapy accepts Medicare, Workers Compensation, and most PPO Insurances for therapy services. For specific information regarding coverage please contact our office and we will be happy to verify your individual coverage. WaveFit Aquatic Fitness offers single sessions and packages available for purchase with credit card, cash, or check.

2. What do I expect on my first Physical Therapy visit?

Upon arrival at our office, you will be asked to complete some basic paperwork. This paperwork is also available to download and print from our website. Don’t forget to bring your insurance card(s) and your prescription for physical therapy. The therapist will then ask you a series of questions about your past and current medical conditions before performing a comprehensive evaluation. Based on your physician diagnosis, your therapist prognosis, and your goals an individual treatment plan will be created. You will receive some treatment and a home exercise program.

3. What should I wear to my first appointment for the physical therapy evaluation?

Clothing appropriate for gym setting is preferred. Make sure to wear clothing that allows easy access to the body part we are treating (e.g. shorts for knee patients)

4. What should I wear to pool therapy/aquatic fitness session?

Bring bathing suit, board shorts, rash guard, or running tights and a towel. Water shoes are optional. Changing rooms and showers are available if needed. 

5. How long will each therapy session last?

Your therapy evaluation will last about an hour.  Pool/land therapy and aquatic fitness classes are both one hour in duration. 

6. How long can I come for physical therapy treatment?

Your Doctor and your Physical Therapist will determine based on your diagnosis and your insurance coverage.

7. What can I do when my insurance benefits stop covering the pool therapy?

We have cash options available and offer Aquatic Fitness Classes depending on your medical condition.

8. Is everyone doing the same exercise in the aquatic fitness class?

No, an individual program will be created for your fitness level and goals while exercising in a group setting. At times you may be doing the same exercises as others in the class/session.

9. Are showers and changing rooms available?

Yes there are private changing rooms and showers at both locations. There are cubbies poolside for your belongings, however we suggest leaving valuables at home as we are not responsible for lost or misplaced items.
